WHAT IT’S LIKE TO WORK TOGETHER

the process

A full-service photography experience designed to reduce overwhelm and create meaningful artwork for your home.

I guide you from the first conversation to the finished photographs so your family story is thoughtfully documented and preserved for years to come.

phase one : discovery call

Before booking a session, we hop on a video call so you can share more about your family and what you envision for your photos. My goal isn’t just to take pictures, it’s to create something deeply meaningful for you. That begins with alignment.

I specialize in a specific season of family life: the early years of parenthood, from pregnancy through babies and young children (typically five and under). This is such a profound transition for many women, and documenting it is one of the most meaningful parts of my work.

These years move quickly, and the emotional landscape of becoming a parent deserves to be remembered just as much as the milestones.

phase two : creative planning

Once confirmed we’re a great fit, I guide you through every detail to ensure your session feels effortless.

I always say it’s like a puzzle. Here are some ways I put that together for you…

“Honestly, it’s hard to even find words for how amazing it was. I’m not someone who always feels comfortable in front of a lens, but with Jess it was easy."

Cheyenne V.

“You truly captured this season of our life. There is joy, but also reflection and sadness and grief. I feel like it's all wrapped up in those pictures."

Heidi H.

“I'm confident there's no other photographer I know that could creatively and uniquely capture a disabled child and her family.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Plan to book about two months ahead. Once you confirm with a session fee and signed contract, it’s important to book your creative planning call. This occurs and is required before booking the date of your session.

  • I encourage you to book your design and ordering call within 3 weeks of your session. Once your order is finalized, anticipate 3-5 weeks between all retouching production, print, and shipping.

  • Majority of this happens on the creative planning call. We’ll chat location and considerations. You’ll receive style support from me. This may look like a mood board, taking a snap of your best options laid together, etc. Generally, I’d consider props more like things around the house we’ll incorporate for storytelling in a non-cheesy manner.

  • When choosing me, you’re saying yes to delegating the overwhelm to an experienced professional who will support you from production to print. I’d plan for 1,500-3,500. Payment plans are available.

  • The majority of print products offered include the matching digital with master retouching. Smaller gift items are product only.

  • Ya know that phrase, “Zone of Genius”? Well, the more experience I have, the more I believe about 5 years and younger is where I thrive in my work. Therefore, this is my focus, but once you’re a client, I’m with you as your kid’s grow!
