First Day of School
Free Activity Pages by Age
I've been thinking a lot about IDENTITY this year. I'd be willing to bet you'd agree that when you become a parent, there's an inevitable shift in who you are.
Wouldn't you agree?
This may seem obvious, and you may already do it every year.
(Good on you if that's the case.)
Consider this your invitation to GET IN THE PHOTO on the first day of school. So often, we only take them of the kids. Sound familiar?
This blog was originally going to be a reminder to take first-day-of-school photos of the kids.
But then I realized... I don't want to talk about that.
I want to talk about what happens for US, as parents, when we see OURSELVES in years of documenting a family tradition.
We're evolving, too.
This is my last year as an elementary school parent.
My identity has changed, and I'm proud of that.
So do me a favor, will you?
Get in a first-day-of-school photo.
You'll never regret taking it, even if it's a little rushed, a little imperfect, or your kid insists on making a goofy face.
I vote you let them.

Whether these pages fill a quiet afternoon, become part of your first-day tradition, or simply buy you enough time to finish packing lunches, I hope they help your family savor these last little moments of summer.
Here's to fresh starts, wonderful teachers, and remembering to capture a few photographs along the way.
Happy First Day of School!
